Your opinion about Case IH 305 Magnum Tractor & John Deere 9770 Combine in Awesome Wisconsin Corn Harvest!!
Check this out- we do not have anything interesting today.
Joel Kreuziger- Also TomAtrooj,I use a gopro camera. I took in hours of footage in order to not interupt harvest. So I would let the camera go until the end of the day and battery had already died when on the combine. For my grain cart job I had more control the camera. Some the scenes I shot 2 or 3 different days and some them I just took in once. I made a list of what I wanted to capture and then wrote what and when I did capture to make editting easier and not overly take a scene I had already had.
Joel Kreuziger- Thanks clobenstine! I much appreciate that! I put a lot of thought and work into capturing and editing these scenes.
Yjohndeere- I love movie like that!
Joel Kreuziger- Then I also reccommend now, Gopro makes a lcd screen attachment since I took these scenes. I have it now. You can see real easily what your taking before shooting the scenes. So like you record a small bit and go to playback to see the exact view. The gopro hd camera shoots a huge view. In fact my editting has these views cropped, so I actual captured a larger view than what I'm showing in here. You can show whole view it's just the editting program I have puts puts border around it then.
Joel Kreuziger- We run about 2,000 acres all together of corn, beans & wheat. Just over half of it is corn. On the corn we had a great year last year and averaged 185 bushels on corn.
Joel Kreuziger- Too clobenstine. Other scenes like in cab I have a head strap mount that I wore it on my head. Then I also have a suction cup mount I put on the rear tractor window to show me running the controls. If you order the motorsports GoPro Hero HD I think they call it, they have different packages you can get a wide variety of these mounts. I've ordered even more mounts up then I got. In order to get a good video it's so huge to capture something worth editting so I highly reccomend lots of dif mounts
Joel Kreuziger- I have 3 gopros. My dad, brother and I each use one for snowmobile racing. Most these clips in this particular video were shot probably with same one. This video is likely probably 5 weeks worth of footage it came from. This video is from footage of fall of 2010.
Joel Kreuziger- Hey TheKarinavargas, Well in a turn without backing up I can't turn all that sharp, probably around 36-48 rows to turn around. I try to make wide turns when I can. I can get turned around in 24 rows if I back up and like maybe you would call it y turn back up. Basically like wiggle back and forth enough to eventually make the turn around. The big thing is you have to make sure to not bend the pto shaft. If you go to tight the 3-point can hit the pto if it's not raised. Thanks for the comment!
TheKarinavargas- hey can you make sharp turns whith the grian cart
clobenstine- Good deal, I have a macbook pro, what is the editing program yo use? I just have iMovie, but i havent work much with it.
Joel Kreuziger- Hey Hunter Gibleon, Thanks for the comment! Yeah running grain cart is both fun and can be quite a challenge at times for sure. It's one of my favorite jobs but also can be one of the most mentally exhausting jobs I do. When we are combining corn it's quite a bit on you to keep up with the high pace of up to 3 semi loads or 3,000 bushel in one hour that the 9770 combine of ours is bringing in. Thanks for the info about your crops and about running all Deere equipment.
twagsinwi- Do you think you guys could run a 16 row corn head on that combine?
Ryan Huey- How many GOPRO cameras do you have?!
Joel Kreuziger- Thanks so much 11deereman!! I appreciate that, I was thinking somebody would have to say I have a lot different shots in here! To that question. The biggest thing was like I think it's up to 2.5 inch roll bar mounts. Them and the similar bicycle mounts go around round bars. Like on on combine, grain cart and tractor you find round bars everywhere and that's where I came up with most these unique shots . Like the loops on the hopper bottom trailers and grain cart is how I got the filling shots.
clobenstine- @Joelk1987 Okay, awesome thanks for all the tips. I'll be running a Magnum 275 with 6088 combine this fall, so I'll have to try it out see how it works, should be able to do some cool vids with tillage, manure, ect.
Joel Kreuziger- Then I also ended up getting external hard drives to retain my footage/store and also clear up my computers memory space. I also decided to get 32 gb memory card which like 4 times or maybe 8 times bigger than what you get with the camera. Those all helped a lot. That all was like a 3 month progession of figuring that all out and getting all these things. Again depends how serious you want to get about it. I do a wide variety of different videos you will notice if you look through my channel.
Joel Kreuziger- Hey Clobenstine, I never had any problems with the camera falling off. I used for mounting on equipment a gopro rollbar mount and also bike mount. The rollbar one covers goes on round pipes/tubes 1.5-2.5 inches and the bike does the smaller like 3/4 to 1.5 inch ones. It's something like that. For instance these shots have scenes were I mounted on the tractor mirror bars, the grain cart hoops, semi trailer loops combine railing, 3 point hitch, for the tracks view through the tie down loops.
Joel Kreuziger- Thanks Vortigan07 for the comment! I appreciate it!
Joel Kreuziger- Thanks Crystal! Glad you and your kids liked it!
farmer28290- Good!
Vortigan07- Excellent video, thanks for all the hard work you put into that :-)
Tom Atrooj- Don't worry about my comment. It's only because i like videos using the tempo of the music but earing the noise of the materials is good too. How many times do you taketo put the camera on the differents places and which one do you using? It's my dream to come in the USA and make the corn harvest.
ezxqz- Thank you so much for creating such a cool video. I really liked all the shots from all the different vantage points. I'm really impressed with your work to post such a long video. Impressed with how quiet the cab of that Case Magnum is too. Great job!
Joel Kreuziger- You’re welcome Clobenstine! You will have fun capturing different scenes! So many different angles and views you can do and personal touch you can put to it! If you have a gopro they’re very simple to use and work flawless! Really make capturing unique scenes pretty easy.
cody9871- Great video! Thanks for showing America how they get their food.
BTelissa- great video!
Joel Kreuziger- Thanks for viewing this video so many times! That's awesome that you like this one so much! We normally do around 1,100 to 1,3000 acres of corn aprox. Normally just over half our crops are corn. We do soybeans and wheat also. Total acreage of our farm is around 2,300 acres this year. We have been as large as 3,500 acres like 5 to ten years ago. Currently our drainage tiling business has expanded greatly in recent years.
Joel Kreuziger- Thanks TheHrt5! I much appreciate it!
NRLCGL02142011- This was wonderful!!!! I just used it in a homeschool lesson!!!! Thank you always for sharing so much of your life its amazing what a day for you is like. My Son G, loved seeing the corn & the BIG equipment used. He also noted it must take you forever to finish your chores!!! LOL! Much hugs!!!
Joel Kreuziger- Thanks mocoro007! I appreciate it! Glad you like the video!
kekzdoze- @Joelk1987 looking forward to see them, damn u! ;D
Joel Kreuziger- It’s a learning curve and alot depends how far you want to go. These file sizes are huge which makes storing an issue and editting. So I actually ended up getting a MacBook Pro lab top which has a built in editting program. Otherwise before that I used Studio HD a program I bought that works really good too. Just my old WIndows computer couldn’t handle video was the problem. If doing a lot of scenes I will write down what shots I want and then what & when I did capture to help for editting.
hunter gibleon- man I love running grain cart but it also is a challenge I don't no if this year in illinios is going to be good but we have john deere everything
Joel Kreuziger- I eventually will get to more farm videos. I have some wheat harvest video footage to go through yet. Then come soybean and corn harvest I will get some more new farm video this fall. Also maybe get some fertilizer bar video this fall with my brother.
Snicke22- +++++
Joel Kreuziger- Thanks TheHrt5! I much appreciate it!
TheKarinavargas- how did you put the camera up on top of the cart
Joel Kreuziger- Yeah you're correct as well, the Magnum cab is really well sealed and quiet. It's a very smooth riding tractor as well. It's very impressive how smooth it rides, I think it's combo of the 50 rear tires and the suspension in the front and a good seat. It's had some problems with the parking brake that had virtually the whole tractor ripped apart twice now to get right. They fixed it and then after fixing they found out was a recall shim kit. That aside in all fairness it does an impressive job.
Alek Michalewicz- Man I think I've watched this one 100 times lol. Good video! How many acres do you normally do in corn?
Joel Kreuziger- Being you guys that commented liked this video then I also recommend you check out my 2 videos titled "John Deere 9770 Combine, Case IH 305 Magnum in Corn Harvest Fall 2010" and "Farm Drainage Tiling 2010" Thanks again for the awesome comments!
