Your opinion about International Harvester LA Engine 3.0 - Wranglerstar
Check this out- we do not have anything interesting today.
David Fernandes- Brother what are you doing up so late it said you posted this late, but I am glad you did
ryzo mcgregor- copper ease spread a little on the back of your brake pads and they won't squeak..squeal when they get warm...
Corey Booth- i would have rigged up a straight rod coming off the start crank that a pnematic impact gun or cordless impact on it to crank it over..
Harvey Smith- Mrs Wranglerstar, trust me, your man knows how to work! One more thing, hats off to the inventor of the starter motor.
Bigelow Brook Farm (Web4Deb)- They should outlaw the safety gas cans. I spill more gas using them then I ever did with a regular cans!
jim stone- Hit & Miss is the correct name for this engine.
Conrad Kelly- I SPILL MORE GAS WITH SAFETY CANS THAN I EVER DID WITH THE REGULAR ONES
rockinrowdy13- Cody, just wondering why you didn't try a shot or two of ether? I have a 1964 5hp that came off a 1964 Simplicity snow blower. I removed the engine and got rid of the chasis coz it weighed a TON..literly. The engine sits under my work bench and I am thinking of a way to use it..anyway,the point is..I start it from time to time and I use a small shot of starting fluid and in one or two pulls of the chord she fires right up
Kevin Zuhlke- This engine was probably built to run on ethanol.
wranglerstar- Array
Nevir202- So, does anyone here know enough about this to correct me if I am wrong? It appears to me that the exhaust valve is not sealing properly, the smoke blowing out of the exhaust is partially sucked back in as the engine starts the down stroke.
VeeDubJohn- I hate those safety cans too. Going to start looking for old cans at garage sales. I spill more gas with those safety cans than with the old ones!
Adam Vick- 10:18 :P
HardWayLearnt- Cody, I am really enjoying this series. Be sure to keep your thumb on the same side of the handle as your palm so that you don't end up with a broken thumb when it finally kicks over.
Bust A Pepper- try running a low octane gas with a lead additive, it's a old engine, and the gas that they used to sell was leaded gas, just a thought, also low octane gas combustion is not more volatile, unless you got it running already, your videos are awesome thanks for the great content
TheSoloAsylum- a good 1/2 drill will spin that thing over without giving you blisters....softy.
Dezerado- You mean to tell me that man doesn't have a can of ether?...
Tenspeed TheBikeHanger- Such is life! Keep plugging away at it Cody. My first thought was timing but I think you are on the right track; it was blowing some serious smoke and the fuel in the funnel was really popping. Hopefully the check valve is your problem. Hanging on the edge of my seat with this one!
Steven Beasley- one other thing you should think of with fuel is when these engines ran the fuel had lead in it so a good lead substitute is encouraged
woodturningjohn- Yes I did click the thumbs up and the subscribe button because of all your hard work to get this old girl running. I have to see it, I love those old motors.
Carl Popkes- OK. That was a really cool smoke ring @10:20
Jonathan Smith- Does that engine take leaded gas?
Cactus Makeshop- Beautiful smoke ring. I knew you were flooding it, watched the fuel level quickly drop in the bottle.
lazydragonslayer- I could use that anti-seize stuff on the breech plug of the muzzle loader?
dale myers- those old engines have very cold nature tendencies too. but if the carburetor doesn't use a float bowl. then yes you would be flooding it. it's the needle and seat that regulate a pressure/flow in that style carb. if it doesn't have a float and needle/seat then it could run off a bigger weed eater style carb. or better known as a diaphragm carb.... as for high test gas, it isn't needed. test the compression of the cylinder. to see how mush it pushing. if it's under 125 low octane fuel would do better. high octane fuels are only made for high compression engines. it doesn't make the fuel more volatile. high test gas adds no benefits to a low compression engine.
Brandon Bates- I think i can I think i can I think i can
Curtis Westsail- I wanted to give you three thumbs up. One for your hand, shoulder and arm. I was really hoping so bad t would start. Very entertaining
Stew Miller- yeah, stupid safety cans. The worst part is, because they are air tight, to keep the gasoline from evaporating, they expand and contract with temperature changes, you have to leave the cap loose which negates the purpose of the design.
Claudio Trajtemberg- preheat the plug?
Alabama Organic Gardening- Almost got this thing started!
ka7wyf- check out shopdogsam he just put out vid called lets start an engine. it is similar to yours. he has tons of videos on this hit an miss and older engines. the guy is a character!
luketdrifter2100- I lol'd at "STUPID SAFETY CANS!"
James Anema- It's like the old Serial shows. Can our hero overcome this adversity? Can he recreate the check valve with soda straws, bubble gum, and an old clarinet reed? Tune in tomorrow. Same wranglerstar time, same wranglerstar station.
hallard069- Here I always thought those types of engines were diesel or kerosene fueled. There's a video on YT how to modify those gas cans for better use, I've modified four so far and now they work great.
James Smith- Awesome. Also subscribed to ShopDogSam Channel, thank you!
Seth Thomas- I hate those safety cans too. Almost as safe as that impromptu fuel tank you made up. :)
paul was taken- Ohhh... wow so close! "Otsukare sama desu." (Rough translation: You worked very hard! / Thank you for your hard work.) A one point it puffed out a nice big smoke ring, then I thought i was definitely going to run.... looking forward to seeing this beautiful beast running.. I know you can do it Cody... This is 1000 times more exciting/interesting than any reality TV show that has ever existed!
Captain K-man- I just don't get it, The last video of yours that I got an email from youtube saying a new video is up was the last lottery one you did. I haven't received an email for your last seven uploads. Reposted this on your FB page too.
Angelo Pecora- ah...ya took me back In time with the old engine...got a few hours on em but your knowledge far surpasses mine. Love all your vids and your appreciation of the old tools that built this great country...love the crosscut saw series. Just send me your ball cap so I can put the proper gentle curve in it unless you're a card carryin' member of the Flat Billers...other then that...kudos to you and your family from mine in By God,Montana!
