rick dees- Who's going to be working on this radioactive Japanese farm?
Twanta Craig- Soil-free agriculture
foundation .youth- Very interesting, but what exactly do you put in the tube that promotes the growth of plants?
raymond30031- Array
Sergio Gmez- then you can grow food in mars!!!!!!....
Dreams Wheels- I really hope we'll not gonna fall into this trap again, second green revolution. What about run off, and biodiversity, I would lik to ask him to eat is own tomatoes.Guys monsanto will buy the right straight away, hope every one understand the importance to boycot this thing, thats gonna damage the eco system more than it already is. So many people works on how to feed the world by increasing soil and eco system, avoid run off and polution into the air and ocean, and reconnecting comunities. Can't believe Ted let him come into this conference!
MoganaLeFe- Your video is messing up at 3:22 mins can't see what you are talking about.. Can you please send me a better link!! I am really interested in this topic..Thank you...
j054uaj054ua- This. This needs to be the future! NOW!
Mariusz Kwasniewski- Where can I buy it?
Nishad Kaippally- Array
Ken Horkavy- There is more and more research showing that certain plants and permaculture practices actively reduce the density of radioactivity, heavy metals and other negative human impacts on land and soil. Lawton has shown how to turn a desert into an oasis with just a little intelligent effort. This sheet growth material is certainly another fantastic human invention, but to say that the Japanese won't be able to use their own land for a 100 years is now proven untrue by science. The people that remained in Chernobyl have proven that life does go on even after catastrophic human impacts and with the help of nature can negate the negative affects of many detrimental human activities.
doug dubois- Please stop all testing with this Hydrogel. It emits carcinogens when exposed to sunlight please do more research before using. It is listed and well known that it does as I speak. Its not the miracle you think it is
Dreams Wheels- This guy should to go play video games!
doug dubois- Please stop all testing with this Hydrogel. It emits carcinogens when exposed to sunlight please do more research before using. It is listed and well known that it does as I speak. Its not the miracle you think it is
nicole73551- You can grow vegetables on a rock if you provide them with water and nutrients. Where is the water coming from for this? Where are the nutrients coming from? Where and from what are the materials produced and who is suffering to get it done? Vegetables are not laboratory projects. Stop stealing from trees, imprisoning vegetables and saying it avoids pollution when this causes more environmental problems and pollutes in another form.
Vane Fal- This elegantly simple approach (quite turnkey?) seems full of potential. Costs probably will decrease exponentially. Increasing diversity of plants adapted to the system likely too. Any surface on land, underground, on multi-storey platform skyscrapers, under the sea, in space could be used given energy, nutrient, light, pollinators etc can be routed appropriately. Could even grow some species off the horizontal, e.g on vertical surfaces? The whole earth, solar system planets, asteroids, space stations and platforms etc could become a massive distributed garden complex set-up and tended by simple automation and/or robots? (like that film 'silent running'?).
Zeev Kolman- There is more and more research showing that certain plants and permaculture practices actively reduce the density of radioactivity, heavy metals and other negative human impacts on land and soil. mladica stuka- to all the people loving this shit i say permaculture you retards
Nico van der Merwe- Array
RagingBubuli- How do you water this shit?
John Chapman- The energy to create the film, he has not described, is actually it's entire makeup, is all fossil fuel intensive process to create, Fossil fuel technologies will never create healthy ecosystems. What we eat must produce topsoil. We need to produce perennial polycultures and use Holistic Land Management through mob crazed animals to restore grasslands and ecosystems.See the Savory Institute. Without diversity and soil fertility, to sink carbon, the earth will go into run away climate change.
ojojodiw- Hydroponic is a sound system that is know since the Maya era...
32birds- i dont want to downvote.. simply because of the topic.. just get rid of the translator
sailingsolar- Oh look what we can do. See! there is no problem with radioactive soil. We can pollute all the we want and if you want to grow food you can. Just buy this film that you can only get from me. See we are still on course to destroy the planet for all other living creatures and we still will be able to grow food! Isn't that very very Cool? SS
Repzima Shuz- ¡Esta es una idea brillante!
UnPrincipio- Membraponic )
In Corso- The point is the grow medium, he had stated that barrier film for contamination is just a stand in "...lets pretend...", so obviously it can be any radiation blocking material that any given situation had given.
MsTokies- here's the thing. they have radio active ground . it doesnt matter if it's cost effective or not when it comes down to it. that land cant be used for much for 100 years but if they use that. or some tec along with that. how much time can they cut down?
T Green- Even a bad translation in English, is better than none at all. I don't understand Japanese.
wildcatter63- Question; more details about the bottom film layer please. It does not seem thick enough to stop the level of radioactivity that was claimed.
Tom Salazar- the nutrients would come from the nutrient rich liquids he was walking about as most hydroponics setups.
icekold360- Better yet how do I purchase this film?
Thijs Visser- Indeed. This invention creates an excuse to pollute the soil. Yeah sure, let's fix problems with technology wihich are caused by technology. Vegetables are supposed to grow in the ground. If you want to fix the problem you have to restore the soil, which is possible: see ?v=z_xET5iZSy0.
krazyako- Holy shit. I want grass inside my house. LOOOOL. I WANT THAT.
shincastle- It's pretty amazing technology but my guess is that the public will not really accept this kind of method of growing food. We all want the food to get nutrients from the ground, I guess it just sounds more natural than growing on some plastic.
Adrian Yeo- isn't this known as hydroponic?
32birds- JESUS Christ... there is a first for everything.. ive been watching ted videos for a few years now.. and i think this is the first time ive stopped a ted video... the translation was the absolute most awful thing i have ever heard.. please fix this.. because the topic seems to be really interesting..
prm thp- Please tell us where can buy those film
