Your opinion about Agriculture 2.0: Farming Systems in an Age of Climate Change
Check this out- we do not have anything interesting today.
Garden For Nutrition- I think he makes some valid points that even the organic community could use: compost allows too much evaporation, no-till is a good idea when possible, cover crops are a great idea, preventing soil erosion should be a high priority, etc. Where I disagree is that he is not comparing against organic 2.0. In organic 2.0 we would never feed annual row crop grains to animals. We would mainly feed forage, which is the ultimate no-till carbon sequestration. We would use dung beetles to work manure in immediately. We would rotate animal pastures with row crop fields to naturally build fertility and prevent excess nitrogen situations. Cover crops would be used to increase and maintain fertility. We would develop legume tree and nut tree crops and perennial grains for permaculture sources of protein. We would grow more plants that attract beneficial insects. We would use broader crop rotations. Perennial grains would be used to raise insects which have a very high FCR and then they would be fed to poultry. We would raise a wider range of animals besides beef and chicken. We would raise more animals with a higher FCR and can be raised mainly on forage; geese, ducks, goat, sheep, pastured pork, rabbit, turkey, guinea pig, llama, donkey, etc.
Clutch handla- I would love to be a farmer
TheSageCommander- Dr. Steve ? More like Dr. Quack. Don't listen to this guy. He is fine with using the population as a testing field. Promoting GMO when third party research (not by Monsanto) has proven time and again that GMO are not safe, causing tumors and premature death. I really dislike this idiot.
