Check this out- we do not have anything interesting today.
mermaidmichele- I'm in support of ANYTHING that urges regular 'consumer critters' to LEARN and UNDERSTAND MORE about WHERE THEIR FOOD COMES FROM AND HOW IT GREW! I love the idea that this is a student initiative, and that she includes MOST of the consumer mindset as well as the technocratic side [and yes, the industrial farm/techs/engineers as well] I think it is WISEST to include everyone who is involved and everyone who is affected or imapcted, and THAT'S EVERYONE, RIGHT? She's not dissing the food production folks AT ALL,..[which I personally have an issue with] but the CONSUMERS who DONT THINK and the out of work urbanites and others who DO NOT REALIZE what ignoring this vital part of our infrastructure and ability to survive does TO US ALL. Sounds like a great idea to me, educate and get folks to STAND UP! TOGETHER!!!!! [or else we will surely fall alone!]
Global Impact STEM Academy- Stand up for your daily food!
Global Impact STEM Academy- 1 out of every 7 jobs in Ohio are in agriculture (food, fuel, fiber, environment) - see how you can be a part of this vital industry through STEM learning. - http://ow.ly/lsXSD
Eclectic Pelican- WOW.. I am standing and so are my goose bumps! That was awesome!!!
mavendumordant- If you eat = you're involved in agriculture! I dream of having an ostrich ranch so I can support my art habit! :)
TheKaptin19- What mess are you talking about? The lack of support for farmers? I think that is attributed to ignorance among today's consumers.
Gary Blumenthal- Peasant agriculture without technology works sooo much better!
1953billye- Amazing! I love it!!!
theotherredguy- Well, US food is not the "safest" in the world. I understand there is an automatic urge to simply presume something like this (freest country in the world, etc) without any information to back it up, but that's no excuse for ignorance. When you make a broad, sweeping assumption like "absolute consensus" you really should back that up and I think the burden of proof is on you for something THAT sweeping. If you believe that quality control at a factory putting out thousands of chickens a day is
Patients Medical Holistic Medical Center- inspiring video!
Rachel Vernon- this is an awful video implying the solution to the agriculture community is industrial agriculture and science, when those are the very things that have caused this mess in the first place.
lovinag- I had goosebumps! Well done!! I am standing... are you?
Blake Y- Please share this video on any public/social networking page you can. Together we must link hands in the fight for Agriculture and be willing to Stand Up!
theotherredguy- Actually, unless you sneak into my garden at night or work at the farm I personally buy my food from, you didn't do anything to keep my food safe. But keep with the false sense of superiority if you'd like. I don't have to "challenge" you. I will let the overwhelming information from the studies I've quoted do that. I haven't done a single "generalization". In fact, I'm the only one of us quoting peer-reviewed research to support their claims. So... have fun w/ your delusion I guess.
WieghatGraphics- Open and fair debate is welcomed and encouraged on this channel. However, name calling and personal attacks will not be tolerated. Keep it civil.
catchyouliving- Awesome video!
Tetsuzan Benny Ron- Way to go! Thank you!
thefarmerstake- Without industrial agriculture we don't have large cities. I am all for the small farms run by families but unless you change the cause please don't kill the method that keep reliable food on most peoples tables.
LilyMyPony- me too!
thefarmerstake- Why is there so much arguing over this video people? You are arguing over execution of farming and not the bigger picture that in larger city’s people think that the grocery store they shop at makes the food. It would be great if everyone could own a small farm and raise their own food. That however will not feed the millions of people who live in large cities. Ag –literacy is at an all time low that should be the number one message people take away from this video.
Michele Bartholomay- Every time I see this I tear up!!!! I loved talking to you in Florida and now you are touching people in North Dakota!!!!!!
theotherredguy- safer than a home farm putting out maybe 100 a year, then I really don't know what to tell you other than that you're an upside down idiot. If you want to live in a fantasy world of your own creation, then that's fine. You can ignore common sense and use a supposed "pro-tech" ideology to prop up your own intellectually barren approach to food. That's fine. It's your life. However, you are wrong as wrong can be in this case. You can read the UN IAASTD if you would like to learn a thing or two.
Tracy Rutherford- This is AWESOME!!!!!! Great job
Rick Clovis- Good Stuff Jasmine
theotherredguy- Also, pawn, if you would like further reading on the subject, you can look up the 2010 Food Safety Performance Study or one of the many other public policy reports done by worldwide (including by US universities) that show "unanimously" that the food in the US is not the "safest" in the world. Most of them put the US food supply anywhere between 4th and 10th place in the world. But that would take critical thinking, so I assume you won't. Either way, have fun being wrong.
ExtracoEventsCenter- Great video! We love it.
Yippy yowy- This was an encouraging video. Many people in America don't realize we have the best food system in place from the production to safety aspect thus we don't take much granted how lucky we are.
Lisa Salom- What a dynamic video. I had the pleasure of seeing it today on Day 1 of the Aggie new student conference. Made me proud that my daughter is going to be part of the TAMA College of Agricultue and Life Sciences.
Isaac Christenson- Awesome work.
northerntropics- I think the original point of the Yahoo article about "Useless Degree #1 - Agriculture" is about paying a lot of money for a degree that will not land you a job. The original article did not argue the point that agriculture is worthless but that the job market for that degree is shrinking by about 5% every 10 years. Lets not blame the messenger for bringing bad news.
Amanda Martinez- Wow! I am going to show this in my classroom.
Gary Briers- Jasmine Dillon, you are my heroine! Thank you for your boundless enthusiasm, your passion, the truthfulness of your message, the righteousness of your cause.
Fred Perez- the most common danger that we face is AG- literacy right now, people do not understand the importance of the farming and the dangers that can happen with the people that don't understand it and choose not to accept it we must unite in order to solve this problem, and be able to grow our food to feed ourselves and the rest of the world
Launnie Ginn- Cool!!
Rachel Vernon- well i would say the same to you. don't advocate a system that creates food insecurity for over a billion people unless you are advocating to change the very aspects that create that insecurity for the world over.
seireidoragon- You also have to remember though that there will always be a market for agriculture even if it is diminishing. Maybe in the future all our food will come from overseas or be engineered but there will always be someone who desires "home grown" and "natural" foods.
bluedappleroan22- LOVE this video! watched it at the wisconsin state ffa convention and just had to find it again.
lwiley04- Gosh! it gives me goosebumps even after I've watched it about 5 times!! Good job Texas A&M and Jasmine!
seedtrade2010- I stood up at my desk - It is so amazing to know that we who are getting a little worn and tired can pass the torch to young people who are as enthusiastic and passionate as we are. Good job!
Glen Harris- I love to eat and drink! Stand up for Agriculture. FARMERS FIGHT! WHHHHHHHOOOOPPP
